Abstract. The theoretical justification of applying sounding with differential array for detection of local geoelectrical inhomogeneities of medium is provided. The case study of condition of a soil hydraulic engineering construction and upper parts of the geological section in the area of groundwater pollution demonstrates the efficiency of combining of the vertical and differential sounding in resolving engineering-geological and geoecological problems.
Keywords: differential array, vertical and differential sounding, geoelectrical inhomogeneity, potential difference.
