Cyclic variations characteristics of the S-waves attenuation field in the fault zones and blocks

Abstract

Temporal variations of the Earth's crust and upper mantle attenuation field in the local zones of the Garm region during 1980 to 1991, using of the detailed structure of coda waves envelope of local earthquakes, are studied. It is shown that structure variations of coda wave envelopes are cyclic in the both cases, when earthquakes are occurred in the fault zones and blocks. Existence of the correlation between this temporal variations and the irregularity of the Earth's rotation rate and earthquake occurrences are discussed.
