Abstract

In this paper we studied the earthquakes catalogs by using the superposed epoch analysis in order to find a nonlinear antipodal effect of the strong earthquakes. We found some evidence of this effect in the following form: 1.5 h (3 h) later the main shock the seismic activity is increased in the vicinity of antiepicenter (epicenter). We obtained also the additional result which testifies the modulation of the global seismicity due to the spheroidal oscillations 0S2 of the Earth. Further study of the modulation effect is of undoubted interest for geophysics, especially for the physics of induced seismicity.

Keywords: earthquake, induced seismicity, aftershock, Earth’s eigen oscillations.
